It's New Year's Eve 2015 ... And I'm Waiting For Spring

It's December 31st, 2015.  The end of a year's time. I had put my flower gardens to bed more than a month ago. In preparing my gardens for their long winter sleep, I used whatever Mother Nature generously gave to me.

In the fall, Mother Nature gifted me with plenty of leaves to softly blanket my flower beds. This coming spring, when the soil begins to warm, I will carefully begin to pull away the dead leaves.

From beneath a bed of pine boughs, brightly petaled daffodils will begin pushing their way up through the soil as winter fades into spring.

During the winter, the tall, lance-shaped leaves from a clump of Siberian Iris had quickly become withered and brown. With the spring, little spiky, sharp-edged patches of green will start to appear among the brown leaves.

Come spring, a slumbering forsythia will slowly start to stretch upward toward the warm sun. Then soon, bright yellow flowers will begin dotting newly greening branches.

A new year heralds a new season ... and life renews itself once again.

Happy New Year 2016 To All

Spring is just around the corner ....
